This is however not the case with individuals proving that drones can be used for a variety of purposes, some of them practical and some very strange indeed – as you’re about to find out.
1. Sushi Service
One of London’s most popular sushi chains, YO! Sushi, has swapped the standard conveyor belt for a drone. Your waiter at the restaurant simply directs the flying food towards your plate. Using the drone was more of a stunt to draw in the masses to their eateries, and they even called it the iTray probably based on our Apple-obsessed culture to lure in diners.

Some Brooklyn-based filmmakers decided to shoot a short porn film using a drone and called it “Drone Boning”. The film itself is actually pretty beautiful with shots of vast landscapes that people just happen to be doing it in. Supposedly, the film is actually a commentary on the nature of privacy and increased voyeurism.

3. The Burrito Bomber
This is ‘the world’s first airborne Mexican food delivery system’ and is really quite simple for customers to use. First you order your burrito of choice through an app which sends your location to the restaurant. The drone travels with the tasty treat to your exact location and drops the burrito from a tube which will come floating down with a parachute. You can just picture people standing with their faces to the sky and mouths wide open ready for the Mexican food to land.

If you haven’t heard of the selfie by now then you’re a hermit who doesn’t even use the internet to pass the time. Well a dronie is just like a selfie but is far from a simple static image. People are taking dronies by having the drone first hover in front of their faces then pull back to take a wide shot of the surrounding area. It’s definitely the future of selfies.
5. Drugs
5. Drugs
QuiQui (pronounced ‘quickie’) is a start-up based in San Francisco that will provide a 24-hour drug delivery service via drone. This company will only be delivering prescription drugs of course, and will not be delivering medical marijuana.
As you can see, it’s pretty much becoming the norm to have drones do anything and everything. What an awesome invention!? If you’re looking to buy one to try some of this stuff out for yourself, maybe take a few dronies, then visit MultirotorUK.
